(according to my opinion). at the very least, old versions of ME were ME. this is how i come around to agreeing with embarrassing memories, grief, mistakes. this is how i come around to it. i like what you said about saying "hi". in order for me to say "hi" to a past iteration, that person definitely needs to know about this whole thing. i mark that cutoff a february 6th when i truly realized. as far back as i go. (may 8 2025 1:57PM) - thank you. this gave me a good think. to me what i think about words mostly comes from the context that they were entirely invented things. the only reason you and i can have a self referential conversation (ehh?) about words is because someone made them to be talked about, or used with. every word comes from a different person so, nobody could predict that they would come together in the way that they end up coming together. somehow you found something that id been thinking about recently, in which i seem more comfortable with simple words, not because what complicated words describe is any issue to me personally, but because what complicated words describe is meant to be without a word. i do not dislike words. words are good. i use words to tell you words are good to me, and i use words to clarify that they are good to me in particular. the trouble isnt with "apple" or "glass" or "table", its with "angry" or "excited". not enough, many times, so though the way words connect with one another is both unintentional and perfect, i do not think this makes them seperate or conjoined. on its own, a word means something. surrounded, it can and nearly always means something different. only slight, sometimes but yes, so a word is transient. to me. a word is a transient thing. it goes where it wants. i might see people describe some words fitting together more properly than others but its all. construct. so really, i think all words can befriend all other words. i dont think they care. i think theyre transient, construct, and very much so, do not care about what anyone is doing. thank you. How long have you been coding? / I'm always interested in learning how, why and when different people picked up coding, and also how they ended up on neocities! Do you have anything on that? Love the site! -sami (jan 9 2025 11:28AM) - i love a good excuse to ramble about code. technically my first experience with code was in middle school when we had a computer class and had to play those javascript code games to get the character to collect all the coins. path type stuff. that was my first interaction with it which i guess made me like it.
i decided to own my own personal website after growing very frustrated with jumping from carrd (website builder) to rentry (text site builder) to txti (same thing) without feeling like any of them really gave me the freedom i wanted. but its become something much different for me fundamentally since becoming interested in it. learning to code feels like learning to communicate with somebody and its gotten easier over time just like a friendship does. its sort of like the code is helping me get across what is typically very difficult to get across, like a medium. ive only been really /coding/ coding and practicing html and css for /real/ since i owned this site which is august 17th, 2023, according to neocities
